Parent Organization: Value Creation Society

VSU Men's Lacrosse was reestablished in 2016 and we are now entering our "sixth" season.

There is absolutely NO prior experience required. It is part of our goal as a club to bring new players into the game of lacrosse! All we are asking for from potential members is that they bring positive and proactive attitudes. We want players who enjoy and thrive in a team atmosphere and want to contribute to our club from day one!

We want players who work hard to play hard. We host team social events after games and hang out on the weekends. On the field, we keep it relatively light and fun but still focused and productive.

Blazer Lacrosse has many members who work and or participate in other clubs or fraternities. For this reason, we try to reserve practice times later in the evening that won't interfere with classes, and can be scheduled in around other responsibilities. Right now the team practices twice a week, Mondays & Wednesdays, 8 PM at North Campus field by the ROTC building.

VSU LAX has played teams such in the state such as Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Georgia College State University, Morehouse College, Georgia Tech, SCAD, Armstrong University, Reinhardt College, Shorter College, Point University, and Oglethorpe University.

Out of Georgia, the Blazers have played University of North Florida, Flagler College, Florida Atlantic University, Stetson University, Embry-Riddle Mississippi State, and University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

In the past, Blazer Lacrosse has also competed against several premier Men's Leagues in Atlanta's Annual Turkey Shootout such as the Dogwoods and Southern Empire.

This year Blazer lacrosse is doing our part trying to grow the sport in the southeast by setting up games with brand new teams. We are also connecting with other more established teams in new places.

Blazer lacrosse is also increasing its community outreach by partnering with local stores such as BooksAMillion and assisting them with their outreach programs such as, "Super Hero Saturday" where the team dressed up in Marvel and DC attire and read to local kids in the Valdosta area.

This year Men's Lacrosse as an organization has been trying to increase fundraising efforts by laying the groundwork with local businesses such as Zaxby's, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Chick fil A. Our fundraising goal is to bring in as much money into the club as possible to reduce financial cost for players. Lacrosse is not a cheap sport considering equipment, refs, travel, etc.
